If you read closely though, you will see that it appears they are puppets of a communist government. The hotel remains owned by the “Cuban Military”, which IS the government, and there is no mention of fair wages for employees, what percent of tourist money goes straight to government funds, just nicer sheets for guests.
I would challenge Starwood to look a little deeper at how their practices impact more than the economic bottom line.
